(Note: if the bulb is blown, see Replacement Lumie Bodyclock bulbs)
[Update: Lumie have replaced the Bodyclock Starter 30 with their new product, the Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100. The features are similar and the price is almost the same on Amazon, around £60. However it uses warm white and red LED bulbs to approximate natural sunrise colours. I’ll be writing a review of the Spark 100 soon!]
How I Overcame Insomnia in 10 Steps
If you’ve lost or thrown away your Lumie instruction manual, I’ve compiled a list of instructions to help people having trouble with their Lumie Bodyclock.
Setting up a new Lumie Bodyclock 30
- Lift off the domed lamp cover
- Screw included Lumie bulb into bulb holder (or replacement bulb if needed)
- Replace domed cover, making sure it clicks into place
- Plug in the clock and switch it on
Settings are pretty basic and there are only 3 buttons, meaning that each button has to do double duty. The central button is the mode change button, while the left and right buttons (+ and -) increase or decrease whatever you’re doing.
How to Set Lumie Alarm
Setup Mode
Press and hold the central button. When the clock starts flashing, the alarm clock is in Setup mode. After a few seconds of inactivity, the Setup mode will turn off and the clock goes back into Normal mode.
In Setup mode, pressing the central button cycles through the following settings:
(If you don’t need to reset the time or alarm for example, you would just press the central button again to move to the next setting in the cycle.)
Display:
| SETC | Set Clock | Use + and – to change the time, press central button to set. |
| SETA | Set Alarm | Use + and – to change the alarm time, press central button to set. |
| AM/PM flashes | 12/24Hr | Use + and – to change between 12h and 24h, press central button to set. |
| Speaker symbol flashes | Alarm Sound | Use + and – to change between beep on and beep off. |
| All 3 symbols flash | Display Brightness | Use + and – to change between LO or OFF. Lo means the display LED is dimmed when the lamp is low or off. OFF means the display LED turns off when the lamp is low or off. In both cases the display LED returns to normal brightness during sunrise. Press + once to see the time when the display LED is low or off. |
Normal Mode
Setup mode will turn off after a few seconds of inactivity and the clock will go back into Normal mode.
In Normal mode, pressing + and – will increase or decrease the brightness of the lamp. When the lamp is off, press and hold + to turn it on and adjust it to your preferred level of brightness. When the lamp is on, press and hold – to dim it (or all the way off).
If the lamp is on, press the central button once to activate the “sunset” feature, where the lamp will dim over 30 minutes until it is off. If you don’t want a sunset, just press and hold – to turn the lamp off.
The “sunrise” feature starts 30 minutes before your alarm time. The lamp will turn on and brighten gradually over 30 minutes. Press the central button to stop the sunrise when you wake up. If you have the alarm beep on, the central button also turns off the alarm. If you don’t turn off the sunrise or alarm, it will turn off automatically after 30 minutes.
If you don’t turn off the lamp, it will turn off automatically after 90 minutes.

So I have a question, I have purchased the clock and it works however I accidentally put the wrong current time and it’s out by a few hours.i was just wondering how I can change the current time?!
You should be able to press and hold the central button to enter the set-time mode. When it says “SETC” on the display, use + and – to set the time. Hope this helps!
